This is a piece whose original version appeared on the "Far Voyage" album. It has only been performed twice in a live context: once in 2007, and once in 2017, by markedly different personnel, each time sounding very different. This rendition derives from 2017, a slightly alternate version to that which was ultimately performed before an audience, and features Sheila Bosco and Gregory Hagan. In preparing it for release today, I have constructed it to be precisely 8 minutes and 46 seconds in length, in remembrance of George Floyd.

It is entirely pay-what-you-wish, and all proceeds from this track, not just today but in perpetuity, will be split between the national organization Campaign Zero and the local (to me) Oakland-based Anti Police-Terror Project.

It is supremely disheartening that there is, even now, *any* controversy at all surrounding the phrase "Black Lives Matter." And the fact that there is just goes to show how vitally important it is to keep saying it. And doing something about it. Again and again and again.
